Florian Manger, der unter dem Künstlernamen „el Major“ Anfang 2011 sein erstes Album mit dem Titel „Amnesia“ unter dem Label „Nachtschattenrecords“ veröffentlicht, ist 1985 in einem kleinen Dorf in Bayern geboren und aufgewachsen. Er hat unter dem Namen „DerFlow“ bereits im alter von 14 Jahren angefangen Beats im Hip-Hop Bereich zu produzieren und hat seine erste Band „DSF“ (Deutsche Sprach Freunde) 2001 gegründet, die knapp 1,5 Jahr später unfreiwillig aufgelöst wurde. Sein Stil war damals schon sehr vom „Underground“ geprägt als er die Band mit satten Bässen und minimalistischen Beats aus dem Mischpult versorgt hat. Zwei Jahre später hat sich seinen Bereich erweitert und er begann nun auch experimentelle elektronische Musik zu arrangieren. Die meiste Zeit verbringt er in seinem „N8- Studio“ im Heimatort und tüftelt dort an neuen Tracks. 2010 kam er zu „Nachtschattenrecords“ und nahm sein erstes Album „Amnesia“ auf.
Double Soul

I Double Soul sono Damiano Marangoni alias DamProgressive (musica) e Thomas Croce (parole e voce), due amici della provincia di Varese accomunati dalla passione per la vita e per l’arte. Una sera, andando al DJset dei Chemical Brothers ai Magazzini Generali di Milano si sono chiesti: “perchè non lo facciamo anche noi?”” Ripercorrendo quasi trent’anni di musica elettronica, Damiano e Thomas si sono accorti che si trattava del genere più innovativo e vitale dopo il rock e hanno deciso di unire le loro forze creando un nuovo progetto poetico-musicale dalla doppia anima, i Double Soul appunto, dove l’instancabile ricerca di suoni, ritmi e melodie del primo si fonde con il percorso poetico del secondo. Thomas Croce, che nelle pubblicazioni di poesia ormai numerose tra riviste e raccolte, usa il nome intero all’anagrafe Thomas Maria Croce, sempre attento ascoltatore delle nuove tendenze musicali e grande fan della club culture e dell’arte dei dj techno e house (in tal senso si ricorda la sua prima pubblicazione avanguardista Cascate di Neutroni – Un mega-rave di techno-poesia, Campanotto 2001) e il saggio Breve storia della techno-music, è da anni amico personale di Damiano e ne ha sempre seguito lo sviluppo artistico. Il progetto solista di Damiano, Damprogressive (..www.myspace.com/duuuuuum..) gli è piaciuto e lo ha convinto a tal punto da diventare suo collaboratore e socio esclusivo. Damiano e Thomas insieme, con costanza e passione sono riusciti a realizzare il progetto che gli stava a cuore da tempo: fondere la musica creata al computer con testi a metà strada tra la canzone pop orecchiabile e il testo poetico sperimentale. Più specificatamente, il progetto-laboratorio si caratterizza per l’intento di nascere dalla musica e di tornare a essa, per fornirle un commento, una interpretazione verbale, a scopo performativo, evitando la “spiegazione” o la “razionalizzazione” di un flusso emotivo che rimane indefinito, come il sentimento che lo genera. La lingua scelta per il momento è l’inglese ma non si escludono per il futuro testi in italiano o in altre lingue. I testi dei Double Soul nascono dunque ispirati dalla musica di Damprogressive che si può definire come un mix di Progressive House, Trance, Minimal Techno, Ambient e musica classica, in particolare pianoforte: nascono dalle emozioni, sensazioni, associazioni logiche e illogiche provocate dall’ascolto della musica,e in un momento successivo, appositamente rielaborati si prestano alla declamazione in stile recitativo-rap sulla musica stessa, durante quello che è già stato battezzato in questi ultimi anni come dj-poetry-set, connubio fra reading poetico e dj-set all’avanguardia. Il testo poetico non viene prima della musica. Nel progetto Double Soul è il testo poetico che nasce dalla musica, in un certo senso si mette al suo servizio: non perché la musica senza testo sia più povera, ma perché l’unione delle forze e della arti possa dare un risultato sempre migliore e stimolante, coinvolgendo un pubblico eterogeneo e aperto alle contaminazioni artistiche.
